Mechanical Workshop #1

6:00 AM wake up. Get ready. Get the chouquettes.

7:15 AM meet my friend Christian, a moto mechanic and give him the chouquettes.

Start to work / learn.

The bike is a Suzuki DL 650 VStrom 2012, for those to whom it speaks to more.

This is the check of the rear brake fluid level.

The brake fluid is somewhat corrosive, rubber seals to watch out for.

Here it’s about tightening the chain.

This requires precision, bad settings can lead to premature wear of some parts.

Lubrication is essential.

Clutch handle.

Retensioned, greased.

And a full cleaning for the end 😉

I was able to assist him with changing his engine oil.

We talked about tubeless tire repairs.

Many thanks to him for sharing knowledge.

I am preparing to ride across a whole continent for the first time, then clearly Learning a few techniques is part of the preparation.
